| The Topi ( Domaliscus lunatus) is smaller and darker than the Hartebeest which it resembles. Schaller considered this species to be the most alert of all Serengeti prey. They have S-shaped horns, and have reverse counter-shading (dark below, light above). Males are darker than the females. Topis favor vast treeless grasslands or lightly wooded bush. | ||||||||||
