| This animal was really stuck in the mud until our landrover drove up. Our presence seemed to increase its adrenaline enough to be able to free itself. It wasn't very appreciative, however, and immediately positioned itself between our vehicle and the rest of the herd. The elephant uses dust and mud to protect the skin from insect bites and to clean off parasites. Mud and water also cools the body during intense heat. | |||||||||||
