| The female isolates herself several hours prior to calving. The calves follow their mothers back to the herd within 2-3 days and join a group of other small calves. The group is guarded loosely by a few females. Pushing contests between males begin in the second month even before horns emerge. Dominance interaction and displays occur at around 18 months, and full aggressive behavior at about 30 months. | ||||||||||
