			Every part of the Lion's body is adapted to detect and catch its prey. Unlike other carnivores, the physiology of a lion's gut is specialized for a meat diet. It cannot supplement it with plant matter. Everything about them makes them efficient hunters. Since they prey on animals larger than themselves, they have to use every advantage to kill the animal quickly to avoid being injured.
