Defense Position (Circling the Wagons)
The Black Rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis) is one of few Genuses in the Family Rhinoceratidae. All are endangered. This East Africa subspecies (D. b. somalieusis) was located in Ngorongoro Crater. Calves follow the mother very closely and in case of alarm they press their rumps together and face outward in a position of defense.
