| The Plains Zebras (Equus burchelli) are able to feed on long, tough stems. They often lead the way into taller, more woody or wetter pastures. This prepares the area for the Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) whose broad muzzle is best used in close, short grasses. These two species are found together often. | ||||||||||
