"Room for One More?"
Trying to Get A Little Shade
When the Serengeti sun heats up the plains, wildebeest will seek any shelter available on the sparse landscape. They are gathered together here under the meager shade of one of the few trees in the area. Even when the day gets this hot, however, a minimum of 18% of the herd will still be grazing. At night these animals spend as much time feeding as they do by day, but move less and rest more.
