It's Getting a Little too Crowded Around Here
They live in sounders of females and young, and often join up with other groups. Sexually mature males are basically solitary, and nonbreeding males are found in bachelor groups. The warthog runs with its tail up. A raised mane is a sign of appeasement. In friendly encounters, they often greet each other nose to nose and rub each other with their preorbital glands.
