BURROWING OWL
The Burrowing Owl lives in open, treeless grasslands in western North America throughout Central and South America to Cape Horn. It roosts, breeds and burrows in the ground. They share their burrows with mammals and reptiles in a similar environment. When disturbed they will hiss like a rattlesnake.
