It's a cruel world, after all!

Nature can be cruel sometimes. The plain Manderin Duck here is female, while the guys have all the flashy plumage. That's nature's way. The guys need the flash to attract the females. The females are plain (cryptic coloration)to keep predators away from the nest. Why aren't humans like that??
